My Review: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

Looking for a fun diversion for a rainy afternoon or a day at the beach? Look no further than the Mel series. Full of humor, fun characters, and a somewhat silly plot, this series is a great read when you're in the mood for something light. Want an intro to the series? You can pick up Welcome to Hell, a short novella that will give you a taste of what's to come.

The real story begins once Mel starts her new job at the Hell Corporation. Can you imagine an angel working in a nest of demons? And it's not like they aren't aware she's an angel. It just leads to mayhem and very funny situations. I loved Mel-- I think you have to in order to enjoy this series. Though she's an angel, she's anything but innocent.

I really enjoyed the mixture of the Christian religion paired with Greek mythology. I never would've thought to put Persphone side-by-side with archangels, but it works. The story is fast-paced, featuring lots of witty dialogue. At the end of See You in Hell I was grateful I already had the next book because I was excited to continue the story.

Mel Goes to Hell was my favorite of the three I read. Ms. Carlton's descriptions of Hell in Mel Goes to Hell were imaginative, as well as intriguing, I also enjoyed the forbidden romance between Mel and Luce. This is a fun series, and I'm looking forward to reading more.

About the Author

Demelza Carlton has always loved the ocean, but on her first snorkelling trip she found she was afraid of fish. She has since swum with sea lions, sharks and sea cucumbers and stood on spray-drenched cliffs over a seething sea as a seven-metre cyclonic swell surged in, shattering a shipwreck below.

Sensationalist spin? No - Demelza tends to take a camera with her so she can capture and share the moment later; shipwrecks, sharks and all.

Demelza now lives in Perth, Western Australia, the shark attack capital of the world.

The Ocean's Gift series was her first foray into fiction, followed by her suspense thriller Nightmares trilogy. She swears the Mel Goes to Hell series ambushed her on a crowded train and wouldn't leave her alone.
