Flirting With Fire is a fun novella featuring a clueless warlock and the sassy familiar he inherited from his great aunt. Poor Cat is trapped in her cat form whenever she is in a ten foot radius from her new master. To make matters worse, she is a prisoner in the house without his express permission to leave.
Halloween is Cat's one night off, when she can roam in her human form away from her posh prison. Instead of confronting her master, Cat lets her younger sister convince her that she needs one night of sex more than freedom. Leo, the clueless warlock, allows his best friend to fix him up on a no-strings-attached one night stand for Halloween. You can see where this is going, right??
Anyway, sparks fly, literally. What do you expect from an untrained warlock? The story is short, quick, and right to the point. I liked Cat, at least as far as I got to know her. She's an interesting character, and I'd love to read more about her. I enjoyed the scenes between Leo and Cat (in cat form), they were quite adorable. Leo seems rather clueless and sweet, though we really don't get to know much about him. Cute story with a rather steamy elevator scene. I hope the author writes more about these characters.
