My Review: I received this DVD from Studio C in exchange for an honest review.

I am a die hard comedy fan with a definite soft spot for sketch comedy. I started watching SNL with my parents when I was seven and still watch it to this day. SCTV, MadTV, Second City, I've watched them all. That said, I'm not an easy sell. For a long time, many SNL sketches haven't hit the mark with me. There just has to be more to sketch comedy than potty humor and cussing. Well guess what...there is. Studio C is good, clean humor that the whole family can enjoy.

My favorite thing about Studio C is that it really does appeal to the whole family. My teenage son spent hours watching this with me, and he's not a fan of sketch comedy. It was great to see him laughing so hard. Sure there are some duds in the 2 seasons of Studio C sketches but far less than SNL has been running the last few years. The actors are quite good at staying in character. There were a few times when I couldn't believe they didn't bust out laughing. Good comedy requires a razor sharp wit and near perfect timing. All of the comics on Studio C have that down pat.

So, favorite sketches. My son seemed to love the physical comedy of the Shoulder Angel and Demon sketches. I was afraid he might die laughing during the dating dummy sketch. He also loved the Awkward Avoidance Viking. I liked so many, it's almost impossible to pick favorites, but I liked the exercise video sketch and the online dating sketch with the faulty Google translator. Mrs. Frizzle brought back fond memories of my son's earlier years when he was obsessed with The Magic School Bus and made for a hilarious sketch.

I don't know how long this group of comics have been working together, but they perform together as a seamless unit. Studio C is the perfect combination of mental and physical comedy that will appeal to all ages. It truly is the perfect family friendly entertainment. Laughing together as a family can be one of the best bonding moments. If you like witty comedy that will keep you laughing long after it's over, pick up this DVD.
